🍂 10 Things for Your Family Fall Bucket List
My family loves fall! My kids love to be outside no matter the season but there is something so special about Autumn. Fall is the perfect time to slow down, get outside, & make special memories together. You don’t need an elaborate plan—sometimes the simplest activities become your family’s favorite traditions!
Here are 10 fun things to add to your Fall Family Bucket List: 🍁
🎃 1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Pick out the perfect pumpkins, take family photos, and enjoy some classic fall fun. There are so many different pumpkin patches in NEPA and my family has taken advantage of almost every one!
🍎 2. Go Apple Picking
Spend the day picking apples together, then use your harvest to make apple crisp or another favorite treat. Our family’s favorite variety of apples is Honeycrisp. The one year, my family picked 2 huge baskets and we had applesauce for weeks!
🍂 3. Take a Fall Nature Walk
Explore a local park or trail and enjoy the beautiful colors of the changing leaves. Sometimes we pick up leaves to make fall “wreath” by stapling brightly colored leaves to a paper plate.
🥧 4. Bake a Fall Treat
Make pumpkin muffins, apple crisp, cookies, or another favorite fall recipe as a family. If you go apple picking, you can definitely use some of those apples to make a great fall treat. I think homemade apple donuts might be my favorite thing in the fall!
☕ 5. Have a Hot Chocolate Night
Set up a hot chocolate bar with marshmallows, whipped cream, sprinkles, and other fun toppings.
🎬 6. Have a Cozy Family Movie Night
Put on your pajamas, grab some blankets, make popcorn, and enjoy a favorite family movie. For years, my family has a “Slightly Spooky Movie Night”. As my kids have aged we’ve moved from Curious George’s Boo Fest to Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, to the Goosebumps movie. All of these movies are fun for different ages and it definitely feels special as a Fall movie night.
🌽 7. Visit a Corn Maze
Work together to find your way through a local corn maze. Make it a fun family challenge!
🎨 8. Make a Fall Craft
Create leaf art, decorate pumpkins, make fall decorations, or let the kids create their own seasonal masterpieces. I’ve done so many leaf crafts with my kids-from leaf crowns, to leaf sun catchers, and even leaf rubbings; they have brought some much needed Fall style to my house.
🍁 9. Jump in a Leaf Pile
Rake up the leaves and let the kids jump, play, and laugh. It’s a classic fall activity for a reason!
⭐ 10. Make a Family Memory Jar
Throughout the season, write down your favorite moments on slips of paper. At the end of fall or Thanksgiving, read them together and remember all the fun you had.
Make Memories This Fall!
Fall doesn’t have to be busy or expensive to be special. Take time to enjoy the little moments, laugh together, and make memories your family will treasure.
